What to expect from a shoot with Mx.Wolfe
Before your shoot.
Once you submit a booking request I will reach out to you directly to confirm and discuss your ideas.
This is a great time to send me references, whether that’s skills you want photos of, mood boards, photos you love the look of, or anything else that helps communicate your goals. If you are hoping to get photos of skills I encourage you to make a list of skills in advance of your shoot for easy reference.
Feel free to make yourself a photoshoot playlist! I can always play my own music or we can shoot without music, but if you would like to set your own vibe with a playlist, I welcome that.
If you have any accessibility needs you would like me to be aware of please let me know before your shoot so I can be sure to have appropriate accommodations.
During your shoot.
My priority during your shoot is to provide a comfortable environment, to give you as much agency as I can, and to bring your visions to life. Prior to your shoot I encourage you to send me as many references, inspirations, and mood boards as you’d like. I love to collaborate closely with the people I work with to capture moments that feel authentic and meaningful.
I’m not your traditional photoshoot photographer. I specialize in performance and movement photography and find artistic joy in photographing bodies in motion. I will never rush you through poses or reject your ideas. Instead, I provide a space where you are free to explore your artistry and creativity at your own pace, and where you can feel connected to yourself and your craft.
I don’t provide direction the same way many photographers do during a photoshoot. For example, I won’t ask you to smile unless you tell me that’s something you want. This is in part because of my skill set and in part because (especially as a white person who sometimes passes as a man) I have my own ethical concerns about directing the people I photograph. If you would like to hear more about my thoughts on ethics and direction within photography feel free to send me an email or DM and I would be happy to chat.
If you are interested in having someone direct and/or style you, I encourage you to either bring a friend (or two!), or you can pay a little extra for one of my on-call assistants: I work with several people who are knowledgeable in pole and/or circus and can join our shoot to offer guidance, spins, hair arrangement, etc. (see Pricing Info for more details).
After your shoot.
I will give you an estimated turn around time on the day of your shoot, if you have a time-sensitive need for photos please let me know and I can expedite small quantities of photos faster.
Once they’re ready, I will share a gallery of unedited photos via Google Drive. You are welcome to download and use these photos as is. Most of my packages include at least a couple of edits of your choice and I highly recommend seeing what an edit can do for your photos. I can always pump a little extra magic into your photos with a $5-15 edit!
Please credit me when you use my photos. I will always ask for your permission before publicly sharing photos from a private photoshoot, and you can always say no or change your mind later and request a photo be taken down.
