Circus. Pole. Performance. Movement.

About

Mx. Mercy Wolfe (they/them) is a photographer based in Oakland, CA, on unceded Ohlone land. Originally from northern New England, Mercy studied photography at Marlboro College in Vermont. They graduated with a BA in visual art and gender studies in 2019.

Spending their undergrad just up the hill from a professional circus school, and taking recreational circus classes on the side, Mercy fell in love with photographing circus. Their partner (a professional student at NECCA at the time) encouraged them to pursue circus photography more seriously, and they haven’t looked back since.

Mercy moved to California in 2022 and now works full-time as a freelance photographer for circus, pole, and queer communities. As a primarily candid photographer, they enjoy capturing movement more than anything else and are constantly inspired by the people they work with.

Mercy is trans and neurodivergent, and they thrive off of working with people who have similar experiences and identities.
